My Sweet Sisters
Dear friends,
Grief has changed me…. not just the shape of my days, but the shape of mel.
And if you’re reading this, I imagine it’s changed you too.
I don’t have a perfect answer or a five-step plan. What I do have is this deep, quiet knowing:
That at some point ….not today, maybe not even this season….. a part of you will want to rise. I’ve noticed in the quiet (which there are a lot of quiet moments) that there is something tugging at me.
Not to escape the grief, not to erase the love,
But to remember who you are with the grief.
This is what I call “a new way to stand.”
It doesn’t look like pushing through.
It doesn’t require you to be strong all the time.
It looks like this:
Letting yourself rest.
Crying without shame.
Creating small moments of beauty — even in the ache.
Saying, “I’m not okay,” and still showing up with breath in your body.
If you’re not there yet, that’s okay.
But if something inside you whispers, “I want to find a way to keep going,” —
then I want to walk with you.
Not to rush you.
Not to fix you.
But to remind you that standing again is possible, it just looks different now…..and that you’re not alone.
After Lew died, my heart died too, I have been chasing the old Gina, Where did she go? I hate thinking she is gone, Maybe she’s not gone, just in water color now, you know where the lines are blurred yet, still beautiful. That’s us! We are water colored beauties.
I have been looking and searching for clarity, yet I have been foggy with thoughts of “what’s to become of me?”
Whenever I enter into that state of fear, I slow down, that means, in my opinion that I am needing rest and retreat. This is your permission slip to do whatever you want in this season. There are no rules…none!
I look forward to meeting with you all on Thursday and pray for you all daily.
Ps… I am thinking of creating a small mini course on this very subject, I am curious if this is something you would be interested in? Let me know, if you would respond that would be awesome!!
Blessings!!
