Hope
Hello my dear friends,
Just the other day, I heard a man talk about something similar and yet, I wanted to explore some scripture, whether you are on the fence with God or not, I wanted to give this perspective. I hope this resonates and adds some hope to you as you go forward this week! I decided to put my own spin on what this gentleman had been talking about. The concept intrigued me. As a widow, our hope meter has fallen a bit.
What do we hope for?
We want our lives back.
We forgot what it is like to see hope as something we can strive for.
So for today, I hope this hits you as it did me as I wrote it.
“Living Like It’s Already Cleared”
Imagine someone handed you a check for one million dollars and you deposited it into your account. The bank tells you it will clear in 10 business days.
Now pause……….
How would you feel in those 10 days?
Would you walk around heavy with doubt?
Or would you carry yourself differently….with confidence, ease, and even joy because you know what’s coming?
Remember, You haven’t spent a single dollar yet… but the knowing changes everything.
This is the invitation I believe God is giving us. I have lived this last year and a half wondering what God is going to do with me now that Lew is gone, WHAT? “Who am I” now is a big theme and even if it’s 1 year or 10 years, I have noticed this theme among women who have lost their loves.
BUT, I want to live from belief again, not doubt or fear. So here goes…..
To live from belief, not just sight.
To let peace, joy, and abundance rise now, before the evidence appears.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
— Hebrews 11:1
As widows, as women, we often wonder if we’ll ever feel truly whole again.
If we’ll ever feel financially secure.
If we’ll ever experience joy that doesn’t feel edged in grief.
And sometimes our beliefs don’t scream.
They whisper.
“Maybe not for me.”
“I just can’t”
“That’s too much to hope for.”
“I should just be grateful for what I have.”
I call these the NO SO SELF TALK…..
But God calls us to MORE than surviving.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10
What if we allowed ourselves to believe that?
To walk like the blessing has already cleared.
To speak like joy is already blooming.
To feel the satisfaction and fullness before it fully arrives.
Because He is a God who sees in secret.
Who honors mustard seeds of faith.
And who blesses those who believe before they see.
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.”
Luke 1:45
So today, we choose to soften the self-doubt.
We water the seed of belief. I am drenching it,….:-)
We walk in the knowing, (we may be walking slowly btw, but we are choosing)
The deposit has already been made.
We’re just waiting for it to clear.
I hope this resonated or even gave you a bit of hope that we aren’t left here to just survive. EVEN if we feel like we are at times, I just don’t believe it. I want to believe that Lew is with me wherever I go and that I will see through the fog of doubt and fear. May you sense this in your day today!
Hugs~
